The choice of vehicle make, model and any required accessories is the responsibility of the user department or agency based on operational requirements.
Light Commercial and 4WD Wagons are not on the list due to the wide variety of vehicles and are selected on a fit for purpose basis. Please contact VicFleet to discuss your requirements.
Government departments or agencies that require an exemption must apply in writing to VicFleet, demonstrating a clearly defined operational need to purchase a vehicle that is not available on the Approved Vehicle List. Refer to section 3.2.1.4 of the policy.
To minimise costs, departments and agencies should consider the vehicle size, fuel efficiency and colour of each vehicle, as these factors impact the monthly lease charges.
The Approved Vehicle List selection process is determined on vehicle safety, environmental performance and value for money. The Approved Vehicle List is reviewed quarterly and will be updated as vehicle models, pricing and safety features change.
