Goods and services mandated agencies

Find out which organisations must comply with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board’s policies for goods and services procurement.


The VGPB’s policies apply to:

  • government departments and specified entities;
  • the Victorian Public Sector Commission;
  • those offices or bodies specified in section 16(1) of the Public Administration Act 2004 ; and
  • Administrative Offices established in relation to a department under Section 11(a) of the Public Administration Act 2004.

Who is exempt?

All other government organisations and local government are not mandated to comply with VGPB policy. However, they are encouraged to apply best practice procurement policies and processes.

VGPB policies relates to procurement of goods and services only. They do not apply to building and construction and health related goods, services and equipment.
