Overview
The Victorian Government (the State) is committed to ethical, sustainable and socially responsible procurement.
From 1 April 2025, the Code will set mandatory minimum standards that Suppliers must achieve to establish and maintain a business relationship with the State.
The Code will continue to set standards in the areas of:
- integrity, ethics and conduct
- conflict of interest; gifts, benefits and hospitality
- corporate governance
- labour and human rights
- health and safety
- environmental management

Application of the revised Code will be supported by new guidance materials for agency buyers and suppliers.

Model contract clauses
Model contract clauses support the application of the revised Code. Departments and agencies may use the clauses as is, or adapt them to suit their specific needs.
Departments and agencies no longer need the Supplier Code of Conduct Commitment Letter if using this (or an adapted) contract clause in their contracts.
